The Haven
Residential Eating
Disorder Treatment Facility
Proposed Opening Date DEPENDS ON YOU!
Once
we discover someone we love is suffering from an eating disorder, after the
initial shock wears off, we try to find the best treatment for that loved one. We have felt for many years that
We
have spent several years offering our families resources for in-patient treatment
and we knew that the hardships they were facing could be reduced with a
facility in
THE HAVEN will be built on that
concept. Last May, while speaking at
school counselors' gathering a very generous woman came up after the
presentation. She very boldly said, "I
am someone you want to know!" That
sounded wonderful to me. She told me
that she and her husband had 114 acres in
Not
only are they donating the acreage but they also raise horses, and this
wonderful lady is certified in hipo message, hipo orthopedics, a school counselor and a licensed
LPC. It doesn't get any better than
this.
We
had the opportunity to speak on a local radio talk show and after the show
aired a gentleman called and offered to do all the flooring for THE HAVEN.
I explained that the facility
would be about 7,000-sq. ft., with 20 beds.
He didn't even blink an eye. He
said that he would work on trying to find other contractors that might donate
their services even down to clearing the land.
We
have enclosed some pictures of the new home of THE HAVEN! We have sent out
over 120 packets to people that might be willing to donate something, the
plumbing, the foundation, kitchen equipment, a contractor, landscaping, medical
equipment, furniture even linens and so far we have had two wonderful people
volunteer. We ask that you search your
heart! Whether you have someone in your
family, know someone that is suffering or just have a passion for making a
contribution to your community, your state or mankind...please remember
